David and Goliath

David and Goliath isn’t just a retelling of the classic story about a boy defeating a giant with a slingshot. In this comic, Ganan shares the story with Zack — and as usual, Zack has plenty of questions.

Ganan does his best to answer them, and along the way, the story comes to life in a fresh and exciting way. You may even find that some of your own questions get answered in “David and Goliath.”

A little bit more about what happens here

Most everyone knows the story of David and Goliath… The boy who killed the giant with a slingshot. It’s one of the greatest underdog stories ever told. If you listen to the story with your kid years on, there are some pretty big “whys” that will pop up… Like, why did the armies just yell at each other? Why didn’t they just fight? How big was the rock that killed Goliath? Small kids can have big questions. Questions just like Zack has. Zack is the hero of our story. Well… maybe not this hero certainly our main character and Zack really needs to learn some lessons from David and Goliath. And who better to tell the story than his guardian angel,Ganan? Zack and Ganan are characters from the comic strip “ Are We There Yet?”. A cartoon world devoted to instructing kids of all ages about spiritual warfare. During Ganan’s narrative of “David and Goliath” Zack has a few “kid” questions of his own. While.”David and Goliath” is just one more killing the blood of Bible story the addition of Zack and Ganan make it both entertaining and educational. So whether a child is reading “David and Goliath” by themselves or with a parent their biblical knowledge will certainly grow.

David is a young shepherd boy who loves and trusts God with his whole heart. Even though he is small and inexperienced compared to trained soldiers, David has incredible faith. When everyone else—including King Saul—was afraid of Goliath, David believed God would give him victory. His courage didn’t come from strength or weapons, but from obedience and confidence in God. Through that faith, David defeated a giant and inspired an entire army.

Goliath is a massive Philistine warrior—giant-sized, heavily armored, loud, and intimidating. For 40 days he mocked Israel’s army and insulted God. He was powerful physically, but spiritually blind and fueled by pride and arrogance. Goliath also had “unclean spirits” around him in the story’s interpretation, representing spiritual darkness influencing him. His confidence was in his size and weapons, but he was defeated by a young boy’s faith in God.
